Maggie Bera is an actress with a BFA in Musical Theatre fromTexas State University. At Texas State, she has worked closely with film, TV and Broadway stars Kaitlin Hopkins, Jim Price, Cassie Abate, Kiira Schmidt, Michael Costello, Laura Lane, Darren Gibson and Keenah Armitage. Regionally she appeared in Les Miserables at Connecticut Repertory Theatre, directed by Broadway legend and Tony nominated Terrence Mann, and as Wendy in Peter Pan starring Broadway’s Riley Costello (Bye Bye Birdie, 13!, Everyday Rapture) and Terrence Mann (Les Miserables, Beauty and the Beast, Pippin). She has appeared in a Verizon Fios commercial, Showtime’s The Big C starring Laura Linney, and numerous print and radio ads.
Born in Sayreville, NJ (hometown to Bon Jovi), Maggie grew up commuting back and forth to be a part of the NYC theater scene. She toured the tri-state area performing the national anthem for the Brooklyn Nets, Philadelphia 76ers, and the NY Mets. Maggie also proudly studied for ten years at the Paper Mill Playhouse Summer Theatre Conservatory under Mark Hoebee and Patrick Parker, and was nominated for a Rising Star Award two years in a row for her performances as Lucy in Jekyll & Hyde and Reno Sweeney in Anything Goes.
Maggie will be playing the role of Lucy Van Pelt in Texas State’s production of The World According to Snoopy at Theatre Under The Stars June 7-18th. The production is directed by Kaitlin Hopkins (Bat Boy, Bare: A Pop Opera) and choreographed by Adam Cates (Anastasia, A Gentleman’s Guide To Love & Murder).
