”The Power Of Social Media For Performers” BroadwayCon Panel with Maggie Bera, Tyler Joseph Ellis, Kaisha Huguley + Cara Rose DiPietro

Kaisha Huguley, Maggie Bera, Tyler Joseph Ellis at Cara Rose DiPietro at Broadway Con, 2023

Actors know the stats. There are a whole lot of us, and not a whole lot of jobs.

So much so that we can go weeks, months, even years without performing professionally.

So why wait for the next opportunity? Why wait for the phone to ring when we have something so valuable (and FREE!) right at our fingertips?

I'm talking about the power of social media.

In 2022 alone, I got a handful of auditions and 3 job offers because someone somewhere saw me online.

Whether it was from a silly Broadway leading lady impression I filmed for TikTok that went viral, my website, or even an episode of the Actor Aesthetic podcast, someone saw my work and thought of me.

That's HUGE!

And I'm certainly not alone. Tune in to episode 187 with my friends and fellow performers in the field to hear about how we've made an impact online, and how it's affecting our careers in the theatre industry.

The good, the bad, and the ugly!

-Maggie Bera, founder of Actor Aesthetic

Through candid conversations about our experiences as working actors, we can slowly bridge the informational gap between training programs and "the real world" - leading to a more accessible industry for the next generation of artists.

Join host Maggie Bera and social media icons Kaisha S. Huguley Tyler Joseph Ellis + Cara Rose DiPietro who were willing to share their stories about the big bad world of social.

Thank you to Broadway Con for having this panel!
